Beyond the Business: Ciara

Why did you decide to apply to UnBound?

I applied to UnBound because I had a plan when I was a little girl to be somebody and do something that my name will carry on. Also, it was the thought of meeting positive people with more knowledge and experience in life. This was a leap of faith for me – meeting and getting to know Richard, Sarah and Jeff – because I was at the point feeling like there was nothing else left to do. I have been looking for a group of some type of support for that extra push, to not only talk the talk, but get up, get
out and walk the walk.

What do you think you love so much about starting your own business?

I loved that I can set my own hours, spend more time with my family and make as much money as I can. Having my own company has always been a dream to me that came true. I love the fact that one day I will be able to help others gain employment through Ciara’s Family Affair and to build trust from my company to a client.

How do you think starting a business has changed your life?

I can see and feel the change in how I walk, talk and think. I walk now with my head up high to show my kids you can do anything you put your mind to. I talk now with more pride and belief in myself to be a great role model for my children and others. I think now with the sense of doing better than I did the day before and that there shouldn’t be a such thing as giving up.

What guides you in running your business?

In my opinion excellent customer service is the key to a successful business endeavor. I’ve learned to be more aware and observant, so I take time to look at every persons perspective to provide excellent service.  I know that people want to call on a company that they can trust, with a guarantee that is the CEO is the ears and eyes of it all. The ears is to be the  best listener to their clients feedback, take care of their needs to the best of my ability. And the eyes is to see the big picture no matter how small it is.

What would you say is the biggest change in your life from the program?

My biggest change would be learning to love myself with all my mistakes, to know that its ok to get up and say that I did wrong and to try again. I have changed in so many ways I can truly say I am who I always wanted to be. The program has played a major part in how I have confidence in myself, my future and my business.

What happen if your business fails?

I’m going to search high and low to figure out where did I go wrong and learn from it. I am going to keep pushing.

If the business was taken out the picture, what is the most important thing you’ve gotten out this experience?

I’ve met a lot of educated people that would support you and never would let you give up. Just having the chance to at least try one of my life time dreams is an amazing experience that I would and will share forever.

Anything I didn’t ask that you feel like you want to share?

I want to give thanks three special people that I have been staying up me about accomplishing something a day, reminding me who I am when I get down as they are helping me up. There’s not enough thank you cards I could write or buy to tell you how I feel about how far you have gotten me with just my confidents on how I see Ciara. I really appreciate you Sarah, Richard and Jeff for this wonderful opportunity and this great feeling I have about myself and future.
